Sophie's Kitchen is a small corner restaurant that serves some authentic Cambodian food in the city! The space inside is rather limited, so that is something to keep in mind. There is a friendly ambiance inside and the servers are all very kind. My friend insisted on ordering traditional Cambodian food, so we went for the Bok Lahong, Chha Gkroeung, and Somlawe Majou Kroeung, which were all at medium spice levels. The Bok Lahong or papaya salad was really tangy, but in a good way. It paired well with the other dishes as something a bit more refreshing to eat. We got the Somlawe Majou Kroeung with chicken and it was a delicious spicy and sour soup! Because of its sourness, I recommend eating it with the rice. The Chha Gkroeung is a sautéed lemongrass dish which we ordered with beef. It was also good, but the marinade on the beef tasted a bit peanut-y to me rather than lemongrass-y? But it may have been my tastebuds. We also got the Thai Iced Tea, which was rich in tea flavor, and the Iced Coffee, which was pretty strong. Both were delicious drinks to have with our meal. Overall, I feel like Sophie's Kitchen is a place people have to try, probably with a big group as the dishes can be shared family style! Not many places that I know of have Cambodian food, so this is definitely a unique spot.

Served by the owner's niece, Niyah. Fabulous restaurant. Everyone is friendly, place is spotless, more dining upstairs. Chicken wings with sweet and sour chili sauce is fabulous. Yellow curry chicken with green beans and pineapple, coconut and lemon grass is the bomb. Delicious pumpkin and chicken with rice. Breaded fried shrimp is killer. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant

I can't believe I forgot to publish the last review I wrote. There aren't enough praises for Sophie's. We were huge fans of its predecessor and even bigger fans of this place. I love how the new space is more spacious and has more tables. Moreover, the food continues to knock it out of the park. My absolute favorite is the prahok, I always order the dish when we come here. The beef skewers are always a crowd favorite as well. The service here is fantastic and consistently attentive. They make you feel like part of the family when you stop by. Highly highly recommend.

Corner restaurant right on Washington, seems small but actually with good amount of t of seats (upstairs). Quite a range of menu selections. They might be short on staff so the service was pretty slow... We tried apps, curry and noodle dishes, all pretty good flavors, but have one common problem- a bit too salty. Overall a good spot to try, not the common Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese dishes you get elsewhere. Pin noodles were decent, you can choose your protein and add a fried egg. But it is also a bit greasy and quite salty. It's like udons but rice based and chewier texture. There were a lot of curry selections. The chicken was cooked well and fully flavored. Too bad they only have large soup so we couldn't try a small cup or bowl.
